Getting to SE Alaska can be done in a couple of different ways.

Actually, this is Land & Sea. Getting to SE Alaska by land requires driving to either Bellingham, WA or Prince Rupert, BC and boarding a ferry and then driving off at one of many stops including Ketchikan, Wrangell, Petersburg, Sitka and Juneau.

In addition to using the state ferry route, the other way to access SE Alaska and the inside passage is by cruise ship. Most of the major cruise lines offer trips up and down the extraordinary inside passage with great stops along the way.

Flying to Alaska’s panhandle requires a stop in Seattle and then connecting to Alaska Airlines. From there you can fly to Ketchikan, Wrangell, Petersburg, Sitka and Juneau. Once at these ports, you can board a number of different float plane operators to reach most any and all points in the region.
